Minutes of October Town Board Meeting
Town of New Haven, Adams County, Wisconsin
The October meeting of the New Haven Town Board was called to order by Chairman
Tory Wolfram at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the Clerk noted that proper notice of the
meeting had been given by posting in three places, placed on the Town web site, and
having been emailed to all who have requested that form of notice.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with a motion by Supervisor
Adam Watson, seconded by Supervisor Jason Musiedlak and carried unanimously.
Treasurer Conny Crothers presented the Treasurer’s report which was approved for
filing with a motion by Jason, second by Adam, and unanimous vote.
George Nigh of the Waushara County Highway Department spoke of the brush spraying
his department does and encouraged the Town of New Haven to employ his services as
a cost effective way to slow and prevent brush growth in the right away of the roads in
the Town. He answered many questions from the Board members and those in
attendance at the meeting. No decision was made but it will be on the agenda for next
month authorizing action to be taken.
Jason has been cleaning culverts and has found a few needing replacement and a
couple that are completely filled in with sediment.
Adam moved and Jason seconded to establish the use of five poll workers per shift for
the General Election to be held on the 5 th of November. Motion carried.
Jason moved and Adam seconded to approve the contract with Wisconsin Assessment
Service to conduct the re-valuation in 2025. Motion carried.
Gary Alden was in attendance and is requesting that the easement to Lake Mason on
the south side of the lake be vacated by the Town. It is only about 33 feet wide and his
concern is trespassing on his and nearby properties. Chairman Wolfram will contact the
Town Attorney to see about getting this accomplished and a decision will be made once
more information is available.
The Clerk noted that the Public Test of the voting machines will be done on the 26 of
October at 10:00 a.m. and the test is open to the Public. The Budget needs to be ready
to submit for publication by October 30 th in order to be published in time for the next
meeting date of November 21 st . Nomination papers will be available at that meeting for
anyone wanting them.
County Supervisor Jay Churco reported that the $68 Million County Budget was being
finalized and that the audit of the County Finances had been successfully completed
with no irregularities being found.
Invoices that had been presented to the Clerk for payment were reviewed and approved
for payment with a motion by Adam, second by Jason, and approved unanimously.
Future agenda items shall include the request of Gary Alden to vacate the easement,
spraying of roadsides, and establishment of a Vacation Rental Room Tax Ordinance.
The next meeting will convene at 7:00 p.m. on November 21st beginning with the
Budget Hearing and followed by the Special Town Meeting to adopt the Tax Levy. The
Regular meeting will convene after adjournment of the Special Meeting.
Adam moved to adjourn and Jason seconded. The motion carried and Tory declared
the meeting adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
