Town Background
New Haven is located in the southeastern corner of Adams County Wisconsin. Prime farmland makes up 45% of the Town, 38% is woodland and 10% is wetlands, lakes, ponds or streams. Lake Mason, an 882 acre impounded lake, is shared with the Town of Douglas in Marquette County to the east.
The population was 655 at the time of the 2010 census. New Haven has 30 sections rather than the normal 36 because 6 were annexed to Dell Prairie to equalize the population years ago.
New Haven's elected Town Board includes a Chairman and 2 Supervisors, as well as Town Clerk and Treasurer. The Plan Commission is appointed by the Town Board and has 5 members. New Haven is under Adams County Zoning, but land use decisions may also be influenced by the New Haven Comprehensive Plan and the New Haven Land Division Ordinance.
