Minutes of October 2023 Town Board Meeting
The October 2023 meeting of the New Haven Town Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by
Supervisor Adam Watson.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the Clerk noted that proper notice of the meeting had
been given.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with a motion by Supervisor Jason
Musiedlak and second by Adam. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and approved for filing with a motion by Jason, second by
Adam. Motion carried.
There was no old business to consider and the only new business was the consideration of a
Resolution to begin the process of increasing the Levy above what is allowed by law. The
allowed levy for 2023, collected in 2024 is $158,174, an increase of $1,122 from last year. The
Board feels that an increase greater than that is necessary to keep up with road maintenance.
The proposed Resolution would increase the levy by 25% over what is allowed. This will result
in a levy in the amount of $197,717. The Resolution was reviewed and Jason moved, with
second by Adam to adopt Resolution #10-2023. Motion carried. The Resolution will be
published and put on the agenda for the Special Town Meeting which will be held following the
budget hearing on the third Thursday of November.
Adam reported that the stop sign at the corner of Golden Lane and Fifth Avenue had broken off
and was reset but the post was pretty short. Road Superintendent Bill Ebert will take care of it.
Invoices were reviewed and approved for payment with a motion by Jason, second by Adam,
motion carried.
Future Agenda items shall include increasing the Transfer Site Attendant’s wage by $2 per hour.
The next meeting will be held on the 16 th of November following the Budget Hearing and
Special Town Meeting which begins at 7:00 p.m.
Jason moved and Adam seconded for adjournment and the meeting was declared adjourned at
7:16 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Ken Crothers, Clerk
