Minutes of October 20, 2016 New Haven Town Board Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of the New Haven Town Board was called to order by Chairman Tory Wolfram at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday October 20th, 2016 at the New Haven town hall.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the Clerk noted that notice of the meeting had been posted in three locations and transmitted electronically to all on record as having requested same.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and an error referring to Golden Avenue rather than Golden Court was noted and corrected. Supervisor Adam Watson moved to approve the corrected minutes and Supervisor Bill Ebert seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer Conny Crothers presented the Treasurer’s report which was then approved on a motion by Adam and second by Bill.
Chairman Wolfram invited all in attendance to ask questions and make comments as the various agenda items were discussed.
Doug Thome requested preliminary approval of a Certified Survey Map for his property lying south of Golden Court. Bill moved and Adam seconded that the request be granted. Motion carried.
No further action was necessary on the Certified Survey Map for the Czys property as all necessary action had been taken at a prior meeting.
Discussion on the possibility of raising the town levy in excess of that allowed under the levy limit law resulted in a motion by Adam and second by Bill to adopt a resolution in support of increasing the levy by 20% , an amount of $24,302.69. Motion carried and the question will be brought before the electors at the Special Town Meeting which follows the budget hearing.
Speed limit sign posts for Golden Ct. will be put in soon and when the signs arrive they can be attached to the posts. Repairs to the culverts on 2nd Lane, Golden Avenue, and 1st Lane may be eligible for FEMA reimbursement. Tory has met once with FEMA representatives. More meetings will be necessary. It was agreed to proceed to have Dale get the intersection of Gillette and 5th repaired. Road mowing should be finished soon. The Clerk will develop an updated Emergency Action Plan for poll workers as required by law.
Bills for the month were presented and approved for payment on a motion by Adam and second by Bill.
Future agenda items will include update of 1st Lane culvert
Next meeting was set as follows: Budget Hearing followed by Special Town Meeting, followed by the regular November board will convene at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016.
Bill moved and Adam seconded to adjourn. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
