Minutes of November 15, 2018 New Haven Town Board Meeting
The November meeting began with the Annual Budget Hearing which was convened at 7:00 p.m. by Town Chairman Tory Wolfram. The clerk presented the budget and answered any questions which were brought from the floor. The hearing was declared closed at 7:10 p.m.
The Special Town Meeting to Adopt the Tax Levy was then called to order. Ed Coon moved and Lenny Watson seconded to adopt the Town Levy in the amount of $147,037.00. Motion carried.
Dan Romaine then moved and Ed Coon seconded to approve highway expenses for 2019 in the amount of $111,268.24. Motion carried. Ken Crothers moved and Lenny Watson seconded to adjourn and the Special Town Meeting was declared adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Town Board was then called to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the Clerk noted that proper notice had been given for the meeting
Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved on a motion by Supervisor Bill Ebert and a second by Supervisor Adam Watson.
Treasurer Conny Crothers presented the monthly financial report which was then approved on a motion by Adam and second by Bill.
It was decided that Attorney John Miller be contacted regarding management of Berry Ridge, specifically their inaction concerning creation of a safe and usable turnaround for emergency vehicles. The clerk also noted that monthly parking fee payments to the Town were also in arrears.
The budget for 2019 as presented at the budget hearing was then approved on a motion by Adam and a second by Bill.
It was reported that cleanup from the August storm was complete and mowing of roadsides was commencing. Also, Tory was working with FEMA representatives to recover some of the cost of that August storm.
The Clerk presented the bills for the month which were approved for payment on a motion from Adam and second by Bill.
Agenda items for the next meeting shall include appointment of a Road Supervisor, report of progress on the Berry Ridge issues, brushing of roadsides, and the annual audit of the Clerks Financial Book.
Both Adam and Bill moved for adjournment and the meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
