TB minutes 4-21-16
Minutes of April 21, 2016 Board Meeting
The April meeting of the New Haven Town board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Tory Wolfram. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the Clerk noted that notice of the meeting had been posted in three places and transmitted electronically to those on record as having requested same.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Supervisor Adam Watson moved and Supervisor Bill Ebert seconded to approve the minutes as read. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s Report was presented and approved on a motion by Bill and second by Adam.
The Chairman invited those in attendance to ask questions and make pertinent comments throughout the course of the meeting.
Appointments to fill expired terms for members of the Town Plan Commission were discussed. The Chairman presented names for approval. Bill moved and Adam seconded to approve the following appointments: Myron Byers for a term of three years; Curt Van Schoyck for a term of three years; and Ken Huber for a term of three years. Motion Carried.
The date for road inspection was set as Monday, May 9th, at 6:00 p.m. Supervisors and Chairman and others interested will meet at the town hall and proceed to inspect the roads of the Town.
Jason Musiedlak has requested a load of gravel be put on 2nd Ct. and he will take care of grading it. Jason Lindner has questioned the feasibility of discontinuing a portion of Glen Ave., and this will be looked into. Myron Byers asked about the County Clean Sweep Program and what the function of Delmore Consulting was. He also questioned whether shingles had been removed from a collapsed barn which had been burned by the owner. Lavern Fisher spoke against raising the levy to pay for road improvements since farms who cause the most damage to the roads are not taxed sufficiently, thus placing an undue burden on residential property owners. He suggested lowering the levy and allowing the roads to revert back to gravel to save cost. The chairman polled those in attendance and most felt it was better to maintain roads rather than to let them deteriorate to gravel.
Bills were presented by the Clerk and were approved for payment on a motion by Bill and second by Adam.
It was agreed to hire Pauline Rageth to mow the Town Hall grass and Glenn Licitar to mow the grass at the transfer site.
The Clerk noted that the date for Open Book and Board of Review had been set for Monday, May 16th, 2016 with Open Book from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Board of Review immediately following from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The next regular meeting of the Town Board will be on Wednesday, May 15th at 7:00 p.m.
Bill moved and Adam seconded to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kenneth Crothers, Clerk
