Minutes of May, 2021 Hearing and Town Board Meeting Town of New Haven, Adams County, WI
Chairman Tory Wolfram called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The Clerk noted that notice of the meeting had been published, posted, and sent electronically to those who have requested this form of notificatiorr.
A hearing for the purpose of soliciting comments and concerns regarding the recent revision to the Town Comprehensive Plan was opened. It is required that the plan be updated every ten years and has been done. Pete Joslin of the Plan Commission remarked that the plan can be updated at any time, but must be reviewed and updated every ten years. Dan Romaine said that he had read the Plan and had no concerns of objections. No one else commented. Chairman Wolfram thanked Pete Joslin, former Chairman of the Plan Commission for his efforts to accomplish the update. The Hearing was then declared closed.
The Regular meeting of the New Haven Town Board was called to order at 7:07 and minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with a motion by Supervisor Adam Watson and second by Supervisor Bill Ebert. The Treasurer's report was presented and approved with a motion by Bill Ebert and second by Adam Watson.
Bill Ebert moved and Adam Watson seconded to adopt Ordinance 05-2021 enacting the revised Town Comprehensive Plan. The motion was approved unanimously with a roll call vote by the Clerk.
It was reported that 1st Lane is once again open to travel after massive repairs to drain a spring which had developed below the road surface, causing the soil under the roadway to wash away.
The request of Frank and Lisa Ward to rezone 5 acres in the SE1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 17 was then considered. This request had met with unanimous approval of the Plan Commission. Adam moved and Bill seconded for Town approval of the request. Motion carried.
Adam moved and Bill seconded to waive Liquor, Beer, Wine, and Tobacco license fees for the year as was done last year. Motion carried.
Bill Ebert agreed to work with Lenny Watson to patch the roads for the year. The Clerk noted the passing of long time Road Superintendent Dale Reichhoff and Bill Ebert noted the passing of former Supervisor and Plan Commission member Robert Donner.
Bills for the month as presented by the Clerk were approved for payment with a motion by Bill and second by Adam. The next meeting will be June 17th and following a motion by Adam and second by Bill the meeting was declared adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
