Minutes of Special Town Board Meeting
Town of New Haven
July 10, 2018
A Special Meeting of the New Haven Town Board was called to order at 12:00p.m. at the Town Hall by Chairman Tory Wolfram for the sole purpose of awarding contracts for road work for 2018. Notice of the meeting had been published in the Adams County Times as required by law. In attendance were Chairman Wolfram, Supervisor Bill Ebert, Supervisor Adam Watson, Town Road Superintendent Dale Reichhoff, Mr. Rinehart of Gasser construction, Mr. Biermeier of Scott Construction, and Ken Crothers, Town Clerk.
The one bid from Scott Construction for Project #1, Gillette Ave to 5th Drive, Seal Coat for a distance of 1.48 miles was in the amount of $29,087.00.
The one bid from Scott Construction for Project #2, Gale Dr. from CTH G to 4th Ln., Seal Coat for a distance of .76 mile was in the amount of $18,836.00.
Project #3, Seal Coat Golden Ave. from CTH G west to 4th Dr. was bid at $24,160.00 but was deemed too expensive for this year and Dale suggested that culvert and ditch work needs to be done prior to any top surface work.
The Town Road Improvement Project (TRIP), 5th Dr. from Gillette Ave south to Gillette Dr, was bid at $32,010.40 by Scott Construction and $34,764.06 by Gasser Construction.
Adam moved and Bill seconded to award the contracts for projects #1 and #2 to Scott Construction. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Adam moved and Bill seconded to award the TRIP contract to Scott Construction, the low bidder. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Adam moved and Bill seconded to leave Golden Ave. as it is for this year and place culvert and ditch improvements on the agenda for the next regular board meeting.
Adam moved and Bill seconded to adjourn. Motion carried and the meeting was declared adjourned at 12:40 p.m.
