TB minutes 7-19-18
Minutes of July 19, 2018 Regular Town Board Meeting
Town of New Haven, Adams County, Wisconsin
The regular meeting of the New Haven Town Board for July, 2018 was called to order at 7:00 p.m. at the town hall by Chairman Tory Wolfram. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the Clerk noted that notice of the meeting had been posted in three public places and sent electronically to those on record as having requested such form of notice.
Minutes of the June board meeting and special bid opening meeting were read and approved on a motion by Supervisor Adam Watson and second from Supervisor Bill Ebert.
Treasurer Conny Crothers presented the monthly financial report which was then approved on a motion by Bill and second by Adam.
The Chairman invited all present to ask appropriate questions and to make pertinent comments during the course of the meeting.
The roof on the Town Hall was discussed and more information on the cost of installing a steel roof will be available at a later date.
Repairs to ditches and culverts on Golden Avenue between County G and 5th Avenue were discussed. It was agreed to contact local contractors to do the work after the board had a chance to meet and inspect the ditches and culverts in question. Clerk is to be notified so proper notice of such meeting can be posted.
Drainage issues between the Payne and Bukowski properties were discussed. Mr. Payne explained his efforts to mitigate the problem and indicated that the requirements as specified by Adams County Land and Water were excessively complicated and costly in his opinion. He was going to contact Chuck Skibilski from that department to see if a more reasonable method of alleviating the problem could be found. The Town may need to do some minor culvert and ditch work to help with this situation.
Bernadette Wisniewski expressed her dissatisfaction with the ditch mowing which was recently completed. She thought they mowed too far from the blacktop and into her dooryard. The Board explained that the right of way was 66 ft wide and the contractor had been told to mow as much of it as practical.
As recommended by the Clerk, Bill moved and Adam seconded to reduce the election board to three members per shift for the August 14th Partisan Primary. Motion carried.
Adam moved and Bill seconded to approve all bills as presented by the clerk, Motion carried.
Agenda items for next month shall include repairs to the Hall roof.
The next meeting will be held on August 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.
Bill moved and Adam seconded for adjournment and Tory declared the meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kenneth Crothers, Town Clerk
