TB minutes 7-21-22
Minutes of July 21, 2022 Meeting of the New Haven Town Board
The July meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Supervisor Adam Watson. The Pledge of
Allegiance was recited and the clerk noted that proper notice of the meeting had been given.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with a motion by Supervisor Bill
Ebert, second by Adam, motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and approved for filing with a motion by Bill, second by
Adam, motion carried.
Bernadette Wisniewski was in attendance and reported a large and potentially damaging pot
hole on Gale that needs immediate repair.
Adam has sprayed the brush and vines on the Transfer Site fence and the repairs to the fence
will be made later this fall. Ditch mowing is now complete and will be done again in the fall.
The Town of Dell Prairie is interested in performing the ditch mowing service for New Haven.
This will be discussed at the next meeting.
The Clerk asked to have three regular poll workers per shift for the August primary, and two to
help and advise younger poll workers. This will give newer poll workers experience under the
watchful eye of experienced poll workers. The Board approved.
The request of Bud’s Barn LLC to rezone a portion of a parcel (1.46 acres) from A-3 Secondary
Agricultural District to B-1 Rural Business District on property located in the NE ¼ , SE ¼ Section
36, R7E T14N, parcel 022-00478-0000, at 4074A 2 nd Lane was considered. The request would
allow for activities which have been ongoing and will bring the property into the Zoning Class it
belongs in and allow for limited future expansion of activities there. The Town Plan
Commission had reviewed the proposal and unanimously recommended for approval of the
request. Bill moved and Adam seconded to approve the request. Motion carried.
The topic of abundant brush growth along rights of way was discussed. The possibility of having
the County Highway Department spray the brush or cut it with a boom mower are two options.
Bill will contact the Highway Department to determine the cost and feasibility of each option.
Pauline Rageth has requested that the Town build a new field entrance on Golden Ave to make
access to her property easier. No action was taken and further discussion with Pauline is
necessary.
County Supervisor Jay Churco reported that some property in the county had been
rezoned to Agricultural from other districts, and that a site for a new county building was being
investigated.
Bills as presented by the Clerk were approved for payment with a motion by Bill, second by
Adam, motion carried.
Future agenda items shall include ditch mowing options, transfer site fence repair, and tree
trimming options.
The next meeting will be on August 18 th at 7:00 p.m.
Bill moved and Adam seconded to adjourn and the meeting was declared adjourned at 7:35
p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ken Crothers, Town Clerk
