TB minutes 8-18-22
Town of New Haven, Adams County, Wisconsin
Minutes of August 18, 2022 Town Board Meeting
The August meeting of the New Haven Town Board was convened at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman
Tory Wolfram. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the Clerk noted that proper notice of
the meeting had been given.
Minutes of the July meeting were read and approved with a motion by Supervisor Adam
Watson, second by Supervisor Bill Ebert. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and approved for filing with a motion by Adam, second by
Bill. Motion carried.
Repairs to the Transfer Site fence were discussed. It was agreed that Bill would assist Matt
Hernandez to perform the necessary work this fall.
Spraying of brush along the road right of way in the Town will be performed next year,
depending on cost figures which will soon be available. The Adams County Highway
Department contracts with Waushara County for this service and we can do the same.
The Town of Dell Prairie is still interested in doing the road mowing under an
intergovernmental agreement. This would help them afford a new mower but the problem is
finding sufficient manpower to get the work done. A decision will be made at a later date.
Scott Construction will begin the contracted LRIP project on First Lane on the 24th of this month.
The reconstruction is expected to take about three weeks. The ditch problem on Fifth Drive will
be repaired by the Adams County Highway Department by paving the bottom of the ditch to
prevent further washouts. Tory has contacted the Towns of Dell Prairie and Newport regarding
lowering the speed on Gulch Avenue to 45 miles per hour to hopefully slow traffic to a safer
speed. All Towns involved approve the change. Installing a four way stop at the intersection of
Gulch and Fifth (to the North) and New Haven road (to the South) is also an option but will not
be done if the traffic obeys the posted speed signs.
Adam proposed making all town roads approved for ATV/UTV traffic to alleviate the
concentration of such traffic on currently approved routes. This will be brought up at a later
date following proposed referenda in adjoining towns.
Bills received by the Clerk were approved for payment with a motion by Bill and second by
Adam, motion carried.
Items to be included in next month’s agenda shall include brush spraying next year and an
intergovernmental cooperation agreement with Dell Prairie for mowing of roadsides.
The next regular meeting will be held September 15, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
Adam moved for adjournment, Bill seconded, and the Tory declared the meeting adjourned at
7:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Ken Crothers, Clerk
