TB minutes 9-19-19
Minutes of September 19, 2019 Meeting of the
New Haven Town Board
The regular September meeting of the New Haven Town Board was called to order at 7:00
p.m. on Thursday, September 19 at the Town Hall by Supervisor Adam Watson.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the Clerk noted that notice of the meeting had
been posted in three locations and sent electronically to those on record as wishing that form
of notification.
Minutes of the August meeting were read and approved with a motion from Supervisor Bill
Ebert and second from Adam Watson.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and approved with a motion from Bill and second by
Adam.
Supervisor Watson invited appropriate audience participation in the various agenda items.
Tree cutting and right of way clearing has begun on 1st Ave and will proceed as weather
allows.
A presentation of bicycle routes in Adams County and the activities of the Adams County
Bicycle and Pedestrian Advocates was made by Barbara Weade, representative of the group.
The group meets at the Adams Community Center on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at noon.
They request input from local municipalities for possible bike routes.
Bills presented by the Clerk were approved for payment with a motion by Bill and second by
Adam.
The monthly bills for Solid Waste removal have increased substantially due, in part, to the
increase in hauling cost. The problem of ineligible people using the Transfer Site was discussed.
The possibility of including some sort of wording on the tax letter indicating that proof of
eligibility be required for use of the site may help to alleviate the problem. The Clerk will draft
possible wording for this for the next meeting.
The Clerk asked for permission to secure whatever materials are necessary in order to recertify poll workers for the 2020-2021 Election term. Permission was given.
The next meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on October 17th
.
Bill moved and Adam seconded for adjournment and the meeting was declared at 7:41 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kenneth Crothers, Town Clerk
