Minutes of September 2017 New Haven Town Board Meeting
The September meeting of the New Haven Town Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on
Thursday, the 21st, at the Town Hall by Chairman Tory Wolfram.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the clerk noted that notice of the meeting had been
posted at Club 23, the Boat Landing on the South Shore of Lake Mason, and at the Town Hall as
well as being sent electronically to those on record as wishing to be notified in that manner.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved by a motion from Supervisor Adam
Watson and second by Supervisor Bill Ebert.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and approved by a motion from Bill and second by Adam.
The chairman invited all in attendance to ask questions and make pertinent comments
throughout the meeting.
Areas along the roads needing tree removal and brushing were discussed and a list will be
compiled.
The contract with the Dells-Delton EMS was discussed and approved by a motion from Adam
and second by Bill. Currently we are paying $30 per person and this will increase by $2 for the
next year and by $3 for 2019 and 2020.
The boat launch on the North side of Lake Mason is in need of repair. When the structure was
constructed, no permit was required. To make repairs, an “After the Fact Permit” must be
obtained from the DNR. Mr. Charles Newling, President of the Lake Mason Lake District is
willing to secure the permit if he is appointed by the Town of New Haven to act in its behalf.
The property is a right-of-way and owned by the Town. The permit is expected to cost $606.00.
Adam moved and Bill seconded to appoint Mr. Charles Newling as agent for the Town to secure
the permit and to split the cost of said permit with the Lake District. Motion carried.
Right of way mowing is being done, Scott Construction has seal coated Glen Lane, Golden Ave
from 4th to 5th, and 5th Avenue from Golden Ave. south to State Highway 23. Dale Reichhoff
was instructed to hire someone to saw cut the failing portion of 1st Lane and make temporary
repairs. Royal Excavating will begin repairing the culverts on Golden Ave which were damaged
by the flood of last September. Wisconsin Power and Light will begin another clay excavation in
mid October.
Bills were presented and approved for payment by a motion from Adam and second from Bill.
Topics for the next meeting, scheduled for October 19th, will include brushing and items to
include in the tax letter sent out with tax bills.
Adam moved and Bill seconded for adjournment. Meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
